oh ive been there, its in raliegh right. me and my friend went down there a few weeks ago. thats the guy with the DX that eats preludes (ha lol) nah but his car is weird its faster than it should be but soon its gonna get VTEC thats what we went to japandirect. we talked to a pretty kool guy named jeremy(spell check???) some girls oil light came on in her 95 ex and blew a hole in the side of her block the size of a baseball she said that she thought she could make it home and put more oil in it but i think she drove it for a while with the car low on oil. neways my friend got the intake manifold, cylinder head with pretty much everything on it except the IAC and the VTEC solenoid but thats ok bc he works at crown honda and is friends with a tech that has alot of spare parts. hes got those parts now and were gonna put it on coming up soon. this whole thing is called a mini me swap maybe you heard of it. but its supposed to bump up compression up quite a bit plus getting vtec. howd the motor thing go? what was the cost? did they do the install? let me know any other info that will be helpful. and heres a link for that minime swap if you wanna know more bout that its pretty kool.

he got an h22a1 or a jdm h22a?

i would prefer the h22a1 over the jdm version for the simple fact of reliability and several other reasons like the external coil on the USDM h22a1, the jdm distributor with internal coil is prone to failure

h22 in a 3rd gen prelude or older is going to hurt. one it is like having a size 12 foot and tring to fit it in to a size 10 shoe. second it is going to coast alot. hope you got the money.

ill rephrase:

most of the jdm h22a's ive seen were in near decrepit condition, meaning they burned a lot of oil, didnt run right off the skid, had broken sensors or bent mounts, etc.

im sure a brand new of rebuilt h22a is fine, but the majority that are sold on ebay etc, need some care.
ive also heard bad things about the 10.6/1 CR stock jdm pistons, and like i said before an internal coil jdm distrib that doesnt burn out shortly after being put to work is rare.

on the other hand, most of the h22a1's including my personal motor were in excellent shape
i believe mainly because the only people i see with stock mint 4G h22a1 ludes are old people or middle age single women

ive only seen 3 of em on the road in completely stock (out of the showroom condition) and all three fall into the above categories.

91ludesi: the motor in there now is a 2.0 and isnt that small ive seen an H22a1 in a civic now thats pretty tight. the motor has 260,000 or so miles on it and i dont really think its gonna last much longer dont get me wrong its still running strong but thats alot of miles and its life left is anything but long. what do you suggest i do? the only reason im getting this G3 is because its gonna be cheap and easy for me to get. should be getting it in january. anyone got any better ideas than an H22a1 in G3 lude?
