My girldfriend just bought a '91 Prelude SI 2.0. I know that the B20 SI comes with 135hp and 127 ft/lbs tq and the B21 has 140hp, 135ft/lbs tq. My question is this: How big of an advantage in speed and all around performance does the 2.1 SI Prelude have over the 2.0?? I was doing some research and saw that the 2.1 has max HP @5800 rpms and max torque@5000 rpms while the 2.0 gets max HP@6200 rpm and max torque@4000 rpms. Is the 2.0 a higher revving engine? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

all i have to say is that any car can perform better than the competition when you do the right work. i have a girl that i work who has a prelude from that same gen. she has the 2.0 S.I. AWS. and she said that it was fast so i took it for a little spin and found out that my friends 93 civic DX is faster with only 102 hp. but i loved the all wheel steering. the car has potential the 2.1 may have a little more but its not really too much to worry about.

hes got intake and exaust and it is kinda weird bc he is faster than other DXs he has raced and pulls with slightly modified EXs with very little done to his car. its odd. he is soon to do a mini me swap.
i live on the north side of gboro on highway 29 but i work at the bilo on lawndale in the shoping center with target and i go to school at gtcc infact thats where i am now i come on here during my breaks in my automotive class. we'll hang out sometime or something and as soon as i get my friends G2 prelude and get the motor in it we'll run'em. haha lol

The 5th gens are 15 sec cars. A 3rd gen Si Prelude should take a Civic DX no prob. Our family has an auto Civic DX and even if it were a 5-speed it can't light a candle to my 88 Si.

A 3rd gen Si is nowhere near high 15's stock. Try a mid 17.
