Is it possible to make a non vtec h22a DOHC into a vtec DOHC? would it be worth my time?

 

they have a non-vtec h22a? i thought that was the h23a? im lost

with the $$$ you'd spend on the Frankenstein swap, you'd be better off getting a H22a + install...Power and more reliability.

it is alot of trouble. you will have to do some computer work and youll need vtec cams. dude its alot of work. if you dont want to swap just put some monster cams in it and forget vtec. there are some other mods involved with a cam upgrade though if you do it ask the company about what other mods you should do they will know. let me know what you do.

 

actually i dont even have the car yet, but im thinking of buying a cheap 4th gen lude then swapping an h22a into it

 

i would recommend the stock h22a/1 over the h23 VTEC setup (frankenstein) engine, any day of the week

when its all said and done, the h22a is less money, well spent

h22a is a solid motor, honda used it for 9 years straight, with only minor changes (mostly electrical for obd2, etc.)

the h23a1 had a shorter run with only 92-96

and in my opinion, honda designed the h23a1 underpowered stock and as a filler engine to meet a market share.

ur looking at 30-37 more HP STOCK from an h22a/1 versus a non-vtec h23a1, and with the frankenstein engine your pushing what the h22a/1 makes stock for arguments sake.
