Default my JDM one-piece headlight boo-boo...

ok , I F@!$ed up, I bought a set of JDM one-piece clears off of ebay for a not so reasonable price of $247 (shipping included), and before you say "well that's not so bad": they're coming with only about 2 inches of wire from each bulb, and no harness. I want to hook them up "JDM style" with H1s and H4s, but I don't have the harness to do this. I could roam mindlessly on the superhighway, but I figured it makes infinitely more sense to ask my wise cohorts on han to give me some help. Is there a place that sells just the harnesses, or am I jumping to unnecessary conclusions (the lights haven't actually arrived yet), and is there in fact a way to wire them up without the harness? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

right, using the bulbs that were in your USDM headlights, right? I know that there's two ways to do it, check this link out,

Toronto Prelude Club JDM Headlight Installation

because I wasn't sure if I needed to remove my bumper, so I was looking for an install walkthrough, then I stumbled across step 12, which discusses the use of H1 and H4 bulbs, and how (I'm assuming) since they're either higher or lower in voltage, you'll need the JDM harness. I suppose if I can't find a harness, I'll just use my old bulbs, I just wanted to see how the light configuration would end up using the H1s and H4s.

ok, so I received my headlights, they came with H1s and H4s in the sockets, and about 1 inch of wire leading out of the rubber bulb-surround. Can I just solder the wire onto my existing headlight harness, or do I need to use the US bulbs? Thanks if you guys can help.

You can just solder the wires in. That's what I did & everything works fine. The low beams might be a little confusine 'cause the bulb used is a dual filament, meaning it can be used as both a high & low beam bulb (there will be 3 prongs instead of just the 2 you will use).

so how will that work though? I mean, if i use the USDM harness and just solder the wires from the H1 and H4 bulbs to it, on low, basically the outer bulb will be on high, and only when I select high beam will the inner, non-high beam bulb come on? I've heard that in JDM Preludes, the inner bulb was like a fog/driving light, and the outers were low and high beams. Maybe I'll just stick with the US bulbs, it prefer it if my car not have "Wierd" tendencies like that.
