Default New names for upcoming new GM's minivan for 2005

This news along with the official pictures and specs will be released September 8 in Las Vegas, but from what I heard, Olds Silohette(sp?) is out, of course, and Buick and Saturn will get a rehashed version of their own. Here are the names for the new minivan.

Pontiac retains Montana
Chevrolet - Uplander
Buick - Turanza
Saturn - Relay

All but the Buick will be standard with a variant of the Malibu's 3.5L OHC V6.

I've heard the same thing. I didn't know they were releasing them this soon though. From what I understand, they're on the same platform (I don't know how extensive the changes are).

Also, the Saturn name is a let down. Why don't the name it HUE (like colors) or ICE or something just to go along with the VUE and ION (and SKY??). Maybe they could just call is VAN?

BTW... the Buick is Terraza... still a weird word, just not as strange as what you typed.

Saturn's naming scheme is totally fukked up. The Saturn midsize had to go through 3 naming convention in 4 year timespan. (See below why)

2000: LS (base i4), LS1 (i4 with some options), LS2 (V6)
2001-2003: L100 (base i4), L200 (i4 with some options), L300 (V6)
2004+: L300.1 (i4 with options), L300.2 (V6 with some options), L300.3 (V6 loaded)

That's :screwy: .

Whats with these "-lander" names? You got Uplander to go with Toyota Highlander and Mitsubishi Outlander. I swear, there's need to be a little more creativity in the naming department. But then again you end up with crappy names like Saturn Relay, which is almost as bad as Ford Probe (whoever came up with that seriously needs to be shot.)
