a gallon of gas on average costs $4 - $5 in Europe...a gallon of diesel on average costs $2

diesel cars are also much cheaper to insure in Europe.

and the engines last longer.

How can you say the diesel sounds like a load of crap. Look at the mpg vs power. Show me a conventional engine that does that. With diesel being half the price of gas in Europe, and now significantly cheaper in usa as well, why woudn't you want one. They used to suck couse they were loud and smoked, but with the current refinemnet it beats the helll out of gas.

anybody that doesn't see the benefits of a diesel engine is an idiot...more torque than u'd know what to do with, so easy to extract more power (think about a diesel chip for accords like the ones in trucks that could make 200ft-lbs more torque and like 100hp, who wouldn't want that potential?) and then it's a quiet diesel...u honestly think honda woulda put something they hadn't refined into it's flagship? fuuuuuccccccckkkkkkk no, no black smoke, no smells, and no noise, it's a honda, remember?

the modification possibilites on a diesel are pretty sweet too.

saw a thing on speed where they did propane injection on a ram and came up with about a 200hp 200lb/ft gain. as well as about 10 more miles per gallon :naughty:

That may be true with older diesel powered cars i.e. old benzs and vws...but the new motors are reliable, kinder on the wallet...and don't smell and sound like john deers going down the highway.

Not a hot rod by any means, but if it could be modded to perform better then I guess it would be cool. Not only could you chip it, but also turbo. Diesels are generally for towing and economy.

Now if the upcoming Honda pickup truck would have the diesel option...

Just thought I would set the record straight with regards to the cost of fuel in Europe, Diesel is not cheaper than petrol it's the same price as petrol. In fact in the UK diesel is more expensive than regular petrol/gas.
