2006 Honda S1000
From Sept 03 Road and Track
"Honda has always considered itself the world's premiere compact sport-car maker. But without a compact sports car in its lineup, Honda has seen Mazda and BMW taking all the limelight. Enter the S1000, a front-engine/front-wheel-drive roadster with the look and feel of the S2000 and the driving character and value of the CRX. Unfortunately, from what we learned, this car may not be marketed in the U.S. because of its diminutive size. The engine is reported to be a high-revving 1.0-liter inline-4 with 120 bhp. The car will weigh in at about 2000 lb.
We hope that Honda recognizes that such a car can prove popular in America, and that it's priced well below $20,000."
i copied that from the magazine, and here's a picture

I can't believe they would make a FWD roadster.......when I first read this I got my hopes up, because I was thinking there was no way in hell anyone would try to build a FWD roadster. This would have been exactly what a lot of Honda people have been waiting for......a small, lightweight, and cheap RWD honda vehicle.

This S1000 maybe a good candidate for an engine swap. Who knows? :rick:
Well, I have two schools of thought.
A cheap RWD convertible a la Miata
A FWD Coupe a la CRX
Sadly neither of those are mentioned in that configuration, which begs the question of why bother.
