ATI 500hp Focus

The link above is to the story from Autoweek. Apparently some company called ATI has stuffed in a tuned version of the SVT Cobra's engine into a Focus SVT to put out 500hp. Pretty cool if you ask me. I'm surprised it fits, which makes me ask why can't Honda put larger engines into its cars. I know there were problems with putting anything larger than a 2.0L in the current and previous gen Civics. Also, can someone explain how this FWD car can handle so much horsepower and torque? I keep reading how FWD can't handle more than 300 or so hp w/o major problems.

I think the FWD limit is around 300HP / 300 ft-tq of TQ to be drivable like you said. I mean people are already complain the Maxima has crazy TQ steer and it only has 260ft-lb of TQ. You can only mask it for so long with good suspension geometry but the fundamental of the FWD setup still shows up.
