Bugatti's Monster: 987-horsepower Veyron nearly ready for 2003 launch

Spied doing laps in between heats of a Ferrari Challenge race at the Varano de Melegari circuit near Parma, Italy, it looks like the Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron—or EB 120—is nearly ready for its 2003 launch, with some modifications. The 987-horsepower 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 motor is true to the concept, as is the four-wheel drive, so buyers of the $750,000 two-seat supercar needn’t fret their money is going to waste. It appears auto show circuit criticism of bright chrome details on the concept led the folks in Molsheim to remove all chrome from the front grilles of the car. Also, the interior is a subtle black leather, not the all-white of the concept. Volkswagen-owned Bugatti debuted the Veyron concept, named for Bugatti driver and 1939 Le Mans winner Pierre Veyron, at the 2000 Paris motor show. guhdamn.. guhdamn |
That car is so beautiful... and with 987 HP and AWD, that car will be a beast as well.

Originally posted by asianautica "ever" is a pretty long time. I think it'll be @ the top for awhile, but I'm sure the other guys are not gonna just take back seat to this. They probably have something in the work as well. Maybe it won't have as big of the power but gearing and weight can also improve. But 987HP for a daily driven car is hella crazy:naughty: |
Originally posted by yianni64 "ever" means until this point in time. it doesnt mean forever into the future. |
Where would this thing be sold? VW? Can you imagine walking into a VW dealership to inquire about this car as others are looking at bettles and jettas.
