Default Toyota RAV4 14.9 @ 94 mph STOCK

The Toyota with the weird name moves forcefully to dominate the segment with no name.

What is a RAV4 anyway? The name has been stumbling off tongues since Toyota’s wee sport-ute first hit in 1996. RAV4 sounds like Army code, or the season finale of the International Federation of Competitive Eating. As in: See our ravenous contestants suck down entire bowls of mayonnaise—at RAV4!

Toyota says it’s short for “Recreational Active Vehicle with 4-wheel drive.” Oh.

Pardon us if we can’t get misty over that ostentatious acronym, and while you’re at it, pardon us for failing to coin a universally accepted description of the RAV4’s genus. Is it a crossover, a sport wagon, a cute ute, or a soft-roader? Write your congressional representative—not us—if you have strong feelings either way. Future epigraphists, at least, will be watching to see how it all shakes out.

It's basically a V6 on a corrola. Of course it's fast.

Why don't they make a V6 for corrola?

When it was first introduced I thought it's called RAVA because the 4 looks like an A.

From the link:

Highs: More than enough motor, Toyota build quality, drives better than most Toyota cars.
Very possible. Most likely it handles better than my numb scion tC.

Toyota = old people.
Scion = 1st car for young people who never driven any car, and most are too dumb to realize the tC handles like a van, because if the tv ads say its for young people, it must be so; never question Toyota.

I really don't see the big deal. It'll still handle like an SUV. This is why cars like the Grand Cherokee SRT-8 don't excite me.

Lateral G's is one very small measure of handling. Like you said, better tires make a huge difference in this number. Anyway you put it, RAV4 = high CG = higher roll axis = higher body roll = slow transitions = more difficult to drive.
