James Bond's next car will be...a Fiat Panda?
 

James Bond will have an unlikely drive in the next film, Casino Royale: according to the International Herald Tribune, 007 will get behind the wheel of... a Fiat Panda. It'll be no ordinary Panda, however, but a fully-armoured "armed miniature fortress as indestructible as the other Bond cars", apparently. And it won't be Bond's main drive: that privilege will be reserved for the new Aston Martin V8 Vantage. Casino Royale is scheduled for release in October 2006, with filming to start early next year.

Although this seems weird, Bond did drive a Citroen 2CV in For Your Eyes Only. It wasn't his car though, it was the chick whose parents got killed by the bad guy and she then shot the bad guy with a crossbow, and was running with Bond back to his Lotus Esprit but the bad guys broke the window on the Lotus which triggered its "alarm" and blew up the car. Bond says to the girl, "I take it you have a car," and off they drive in the 2CV, going down a bunch of rally-style hills being chased by a bunch of Peugeot full size sedans.

Actually, from an aesthetic standpoint... that new Panda is quite an improvement... :reechy:

At first read, I thought they were going to give Bond one of the old ones. Those are downright homely. :noes:

Considering the Fiat Panda is a legendary car in Europe, this doesnt suprise me. Although the fact that its not a Ford product does.
