Where can I find a list of DTC/MIL Probable Causes?
When my Check Engine light comes on, I head over to AutoZone where, for no charge, they will connect a DTC/MIL Scan Tool and print out a report that list all of the detected DTC codes along with a list of Probable Causes.
AutoZone's list of Probable Causes is extremely helpful. In fact, they are listed in order of probability. For example, for a code of P1456 (EVAP System Leak Detected in the Fuel Tank System), Autozone lists the Probable Causes in the following order:
1. Check fuel cap
2. Failed vent or purge solenoid
3. Failed hose connection or hose
I now have my own Scan Tool. I have discovered online databases that list the description of proprietary Acura DTC//MIL codes, but nowhere can I find a list of Probable Causes for a given Acura DTC/MIL code.
Anyone know where I might find this info, or perhaps where AutoZone get's their list of Probable Causes?
