My MDX is due for its 30,000 mile maintence check, but costs $450. Are maintence checks required to keep the warranty? Do you think it is worth it?

It will not void your warranty. If you want to save money get out your book look and see what is required for your 30k. Find a good shop that will charge less to do the work. My personal opinion is its not the shop its the tech looking at your car that makes the difference. Thy do sometimes have bad techs at the dealer. Following your maintenance schedule is very impotent.
