Ok, this is really weird. 2000 Passport runs fine when cold, goes into reverse fine when first started up cold. When it gets hot, it dies immediately when going into reverse. If you rev it a little into reverse,, it will sputter badly but still go backward.
Also when hot,, it will accelerate fine above 2k RPM. But coming to stoplights, it dies. It will crank right back up,, and run/ drive again.
Plugs are new,, check engine light detects a random cylinder misfire.

Yikes,, what's up with that?

check for vacuum leak around the intake manifold, throttle body, vacuum plumbing, egr, pcv, fuel injectors, a weak fuel pump, faulty fuel pressure regulator and ignition coil.
