Hi,

My windows on my Rl don't work, I can hear the motor working but the windows won't move. Any ideas what the problem might be? Any suggestions? Thanx in advance.

 

Welcome to the club. The RL window mechanism is very poorly designed. Both of my back windows no longer work. The problem is that the cable that powers the window up and down the track in the door has a plastic piece that it turns on. It is the weakest part of the system and doesn't last. Since hardly anyone rides in my back seat I have no need to replace it with another bracket that will just break due to the poor design.

The replacement is the entire bracket and motor assy and costs >$200. If you don't mind spending the money it isn't hard to get in the door and replace it.

 

I have a '98 RL and the back right window stopped working for over a year. It started working again, so I'm thinking it must be a electrical, so am planning on taking a look.

 

I let my battery run to low when i was cleaning my car and the windows stopped working. Hadda take it back to the dealership and they reset my power and its all fine
