need advice
 
i`m about to sell my teg and i just found out that my 91 teg has a 94 gs motor in it i don`t know alot about imports i`ve raced old chevys most of my life but i do love my teg. could someone please tell me a little bit about what kind of difference the motor swap makes.

GS? Do you mean GSR? Does it say DOHC VTEC on the valve cover? If it does, you're looking at a horsepower increase of 40 HP @ 1600 higher up the power band, and a torque increase of 6ft-lb @ 1200 rpm higher up the power band.

Total output for horsepower is 170 @ 7600 and torque is 128 @ 6200. Oh, and not to mention that if it is the GSR engine (It should say B18C1 stamped on the front of the block, next to the transmission), then that's a very high in demand engine.

Its the same motor that came in the car so there is no differnce. I am not shure what year motor it is by the code but I have a feeling that it is the original motor in it.

well i had to replace the iac and one for a 91 would not work i had to get one off of a 94 thats why

the b18c1 is the VTEC GSR motor the b18a1 is the RS, LS, GS, SE motor that is NON-VTEC
