Thinkin of supercharging the GS-R
First off, I'd like to say that it's pretty hard to find good information on superchargers. You can find any info about turbos, but there is like none on superchargers so here we go.
I was thinking of supercharging my GS-R and was wondering how the engine(101,000m) would hold up with 6(or eventually 8) lbs of boost from a JRSC. What kind of internal work should I do to make sure that nothing will go wrong. I'm going to get a compression test done next week, so if all goes well will I be alright? Next up, any rough estimates for installation price(im sure it varies but just a ballpark figure) Also, if I buy the kit, are there other belts/components or anything I will need? Bigger injectors? Change compression? Basically I'm wondering what else I will need to buy aside from the JRSC kit, and will I need all sorts of tuning because I definately want to make it extremely reliable. I wouldn't be able to afford a new motor if I f*cked this one up.
I have enough money, and was thinking about skipping spending $1000 for a good I/H/E combo that will only give me like 10hp and going straight for FI. Would it be alright to run the JRSC with stock header and exhaust(for a little while until I save up more money. lol)
The reason I was thinking this is because I don't have the will power or money management skills to save up 2500 again.
Okay I hope I've covered everything.

if compression is GREAT then go for it - 6lbs though. If not, you'll need new piston rings and might as well get new pistons. The JRSC kits comes with everything you need to ensure proper running. Tuning, of course, is a must.
I would worry about the higher mileage of the car and how the seals would hold up with the extra pressure. People were worried about any forced induction that i was thinking of doing on my car and it only has 63k on it.
