Default Stock Integra exhaust question

This past weekend my exhaust started sounding funny, like an exhaust leak sound when there's hole in the pipe. It just got worse over the course of a few days. I jacked the car up and checked everything out. It turns out that the welds that connect the front part of the resonator to the exhaust pipe rusted and snapped off, separating the two parts (lots of nasty rattling going on now). I tried to repair it with some JB weld, but it broke loose again after a few days. Has anyone here had the stock resonator removed and replaced with regular piping, and, if so, how did it affect the exhaust note? I may just get the resonator re-welded on, but thought about just taking it out for the heck of it. If you have done or experienced this, I'd really appreciate your feedback. Thanx!:bigok:

HatchVX's brother has a DSM that the previous owner did that to, it just has a pipe welded in place of the stock resonator. It really doesn't change the note very much at all since the cat and stock muffler are still there.

I think it sounds better with some type of resonator on there, but it would be lighter without it

I'm not really concerned about the weight, just wanting to know how it will affect the exhaust tone. Any other input?
