Default No power to radio or digital clock...help?

Hi there

I was working on my system install this weekend which involved putting in a new stereo. Working with a friend, we stripped my car down and put everything in its place and it all worked fine.

Excellent

But then, I got called away and my friend was alone in putting everything. And when I came back, it didn't work.

Not just that, the cigarette lighter and dash clock of the car didn't work.

I pulled the deck out and there were all sorts of mistakes. The remote wire (You know, the amp turn-on wire) was connected to the +12v ignition wire instead of the power antenna wire (Red wires instead of blue) and the fuse was removed from the back of the deck.

Alright, well that sucks but it was simple enough to fix. I put them back together, stuck the fuse in.

I put those back together and it still didn't work. I checked the car's fuses and the fuse for the radio/cigarette lighter was blown. I replaced that and the cigarette lighter now worked but the radio and dash clock still didn't

Then bought an Xtreme Sound deck from Walmart and it didn't work...This morning, I checked the wiring harness and all the connections are good...so looks like it's my car...

So...any ideas? I've checked the wires a dozen times and *every* fuse...Do you guys think any permanent damage has been done?

Default fuses.

There is a fuse compartment in the engine bay. Its on the passenger side of the the car, next to the firewall. In that compartment, there is a fuse, 7.5, that sits almost in the middle on the back (nearest firewall) row.

Check and see if that is blown. I had very similar problem to this, and that fixed it.

Weird...on the fuse diagram, it said that fuse is for "Back-Up" but sure enough, it was blown...I'll report back on my stereo situation

I have the same problem. My clock and cd player do not work. I replaced the 7.5 amps fuse and it broke again and again. What can i do to fix it?

Livewire,

I would try disconnecting your stereo and see if that is the problem. You could ahve crossed a wire in installation.
