Default exhaust rattle at certain rpms

whats up. i got a 95 integra gsr 2dr 55k miles. i have an exhaust buzz at like 1400 rpm and like from 3000-4000. my accord used to do it at 1800 and it was fixed by a 90$ set of springs and gaskets that they called a "buzz kit" and the acura dealer said they had one for the integra. it is completely unbearable and sounds horrible to people outside. the acura dealer also said it could be some a-pipe problem, but they havent looked at it yet to see what it is. who else had this problem? what exactly was it? how did you fix it? and lastly, how much did it cost?

EDIT: i posted a working fix around post #85 in this thread on this issue.

Describe the sound a litlle more? is it real tinny?

I had the same noise @ 1500 and my acura dealer
told me they would just remove my heat shield.
That was the problem w/ me.

Then I had another noise at 3500, when I put my
axle back on, I don't think that's your problem
though...

It was an Acura warranty repair item. I had the same thing fixed in 99. The exhaust pipe from your engine likely has a crack in it. You might want a reputable repair person take a look at it.

I also found it to be very annoying.

It's likely not a heat sheild issue. You need to check the exhasut pipes where they connect to the engine block.

It is highly likely they have a crack in them.

The sound should be like a buzzing sound. It is the pressure of the exhaust fumes rattling the pipes.

delaer will tell you "it's the heat cheilds" which is a crock. In my 92 Civic the heat sheild rattled when warmed. The sound you are hearing is a buzzing. Different prob then heat sheilds.

Sorry to bear the bad news. It is also a little costly to have this fixed.

I think i sortta have a problem the same as yours... Except mine rattles when i idol... and it only happens sometimes. Sounds like a bad rattle, almost as if the tail pipe has come loose form its brackets and it buzzing off of the underside of the car. I think thats what my problem is... All i need to do is reattach the tail pipe ( i think ). Perhaps thats your problem?
