the 1400 rpm rattle is probably the heat shields on the cat....that was my exact problem.

Is it hard to take off the heat shields around the cat?

it is if the bolts are rusted.....drill 'em out if that's the case. otherwise, it's pretty straightforward.

i bet the 1400 rpm is the gaskets, bolts and springs between the exhaust pipes because i had the same **** on my accord at 1800. honda sold me a "buzz kit" consisting of new springs and gaskets and bolts which fixed the problem, and acura has the same "buzz kit" for the integra. that will *probably* fix the 1400 (i think, and i hope) but the 3k-4k thing really pisses me off. how EXACTLY did you remove the heat shields? did you have a lift? what tools?

the 3000 rpm buzz is probably from the heatshield right after the cat (but before the resonator) attached to the underside of the car. just take out the 2 10mm bolts holding it on, & you should be good.....well at least i was, anyway.

jack your car up, get underneath, and you will see them (assuming you see the heatshield that i'm talking about)

The heat shields are most likely not your problem. I used to have a 95 gsr and the header internally has something that comes loose and can't be fixed. Best option is just to get a new header. I went with the dc sports 421 ceramic header, but if you plan to do some serious engine work later go with the JDM 41 series.
