I have a 00 GS-R and I just replaced the stock Michelin tires with some Dunlop SP Sport FM901 195/55 r15 tires and my gas mileage dropped dramatically. I was getting 300+ miles to a tank with normal driving, now I get about 250 miles. Did anyone else have the same experience when they changed tires?
You would be surprised how much driving aggressively can effect your gas mileage. The first week that I had this car, I got about 250 miles/tank from how I drove.
the new tires could have more rolling resistance. it isnt really a bad thing unless you want really good gas mileage, just means you have more traction or grip with the new tires.
Whats the tread wear rating on there? If its lower, that means the tread is softer, meaning more grip, but more rolling resistance in terms of mileage...
