Hi, I'm a n00b. Question about springs for my teggy

1st and foremost, I have searched this forum for info:D. I got lots of great info that has helped me get this far, but would like to know a definitive answer on this:
Can I get away with a ~1" drop with the stock shocks? I'd like to have a little better performance, a little better look, without spending a whole lot of money.
I don't race, but I drive aggressively, and like to have fun through turns. I have 17" wheels with good tires Yoko a540 (but they are dying) I figure that I should drop my car-- for both aestetic as well as performance reasons --as opposed to going with a rear sway bar. I'd like to keep it under 300 including shipping (install is not a factor).
Second question (not as important as the first): any recommendations for a set of springs in particular?

Comptech springs are designed to work with the stock shocks and result in a 1.25" drop. They should be priced somewhere south of $200.

$199 direct from ComptechUSA:

You can probably find it cheaper from 3rd-party shops that carry the product.

Depending on how many miles are on your car you might want to upgrade the shocks since they have to remove the entire assembly anyways. I definately recommend the KYB AGX shocks. You can get them from Coximports.com for $340 shipped and they are adjustables.

I am putting H&R Sport springs on my GSR tomorrow...I will let you know how they are.

How much different are they from stock other than being 1.25 inches lower?

do they work well with aftermarket shocks too?

I think at one point they were Eibach Pro springs, but now I think they are basically a little bit more aggressive then ITR spring rates

if youre only looking for a 1" drop, just save your money and get a set of ITR stock springs for cheap.

Thanks for all the responses, this is great information!

Again I searched the forum, but I can't find any good links to reliable places to buy ITR parts... Along those lines, what online stores do you fellas like for integra parts? I haven't seen any rave reviews like I have for NewEgg.com for computer stuff (highly recommended).
Are there a few places that have great deals on everything or a few places with unbeatable deals on a few items?
