im looking at buying a 00 Type R
im guessing the #'s on the center arm wrest are the # of the car.

the plate says 00-1246.

so does that mean that its # 1246 or what

Only a limited amount of type r's were made each year. They are each individually numbered.

In 2000, about 1600 were made.

That plate should be it. It means it's a 2000 #1246.

 

There was alot more than 1600 produced world wide, those numbers are only for the North American market and it is higher.

 

North America & Canada got a seperate distribution, no?

as your vin number should really be the decoding device to figure out your vehicle build number

but then the vin plates dont match the armrest console, so a lot of people think the number is just there to make you feel special you have a limited production vehicle
