Default Question antenna...

I have a question about my antenna. Today when I was done listining to my radio I turned it off and noticed that the antenna did not go down like it usually does. Can any one tell me why its doing this. Oh yeah it has been lubed at the dealership all the time. Its my frist problem I had with it.

Thanx
Heinz

I would say check if the motor is bad on the antenna or if it is connected properly. Was there any noise at all when you turned off your radio??

I had a problem like that with mine... the antenna becomes very weak and cause a lot of friction (especially in the snow) this friction breaks down the atennas smooth up down action and sometimes jams it... you can try oil on it... or replace the part

If you had it lubed at the dealership, you may want to ask them to check the motor next time you bring your car in. I had the opposite problem where the antenna would be stuck in the down position and wouldn't go up, but it ended up being a problem with dirt getting stuck in the threads.

Default anyone else.....

the antenna motor sounds the same just like if it was going down or up. The antenna also doesn't feel jammed or anything because I can turn it. The only problem is that it will not go down. Can I fix it myself if I find out what it is?

Mine wouldn't go down all the way. Dealership 'replaced the mast'. Hope that helps.

No, it had nothing to do with the motor. I'm under the impression that the 'mast' is the telescoping piece? However, I suppose it could be the piece that rides up inside the telescoping piece? Anyone have an exploded diagram? This was done under warantee, so no charge. I'll keep getting it fixed until my warantee runs out, then I'll probably go with the S2K 'fix'. Integra antennae problems are very, very common. Suprised there hasn't been a recall.
