Default help with engine??!?

Good news......
just bought a 90 interga rs with 24,000 miles in Tuscon, AZ
super clean and straight

Bad news.......
While driving back to Texas
I THREW a rod.

I am kinda new to the intergra's but I am handy and have "an awesome set of tools"

Need input and direction for all the different motor number and swaps and such. Do I rebuild or swap? The swap seem like a lot more work.

This is just an extra daily driver for the mpg.
It gets GREAt mpg right now!

Looking to score a long or short block Looking for advice.

swap will be the best for the value.... might as well. your block is obviously gone to sh*t... probably part of the head too. sooooo, just get another B-series....with your 1990....take your pic
B16 first gen, B18A, B18B (better than the B18A), B17A, B18C1, B18C5, B20B, B20Z (better than the B20B). oh, but dont forget to get a new tranny if you get a vtec b-series.

i say just get a B20B/Z and squeeze a tiny bit of nitrous and youll be flying.

A swap is a must but I have a question. How were you driving that thing to throw a rod when it only has 24k?

I was cruising down the highway around 87-90 mph when it blew. It **** 25 miles form Roswell, NM. I left Las Vegas that morning and made that far. Driving all day from 45-90 mph depending on the weather sometimes it was snowing hard.

It probably rolled over and started at zero again. Keep an eye on the tranny if this is the case. Do you have vehicle history (carfax), or documented service history? Not normal for a Honda to do that at any mileage. Unless someone's messed with the ecu and raised the rev limiter? High revs with low r/s ratio could do this... but only 24k?

This will help:

Yeah I have all the documentation. Carfax show the miles are accurate. It was caught in a estate settlement for a few years. But was drivin about 1 k year during probate. If the speedo clicked over it the cleanest ever w/ that mileage. I think it just happen to have a flaw in the rod that finally gave way.
What do ya'll think JDM B16 swap??
Need anything besides the long block and Pr-3?

The gearing on the LS tranny is pretty crap for a B16, but it will bolt up. You can get a complete swap for under 2 grand anyway, I'd look into that.
