Resonated Test Pipe
My 99 gsr the cat is starting to get clogged. Alot of people are telling me to just bang it out and use it. But im leaning towards a test pipe. I had just an ebay one on a previous car and it was too loud. And the cops around here are strict and plus it was just too much.
Anyone can recommend a decent part to replace it? I have a dc header and a greddy sp2 exhaust if that matters.
Any help is welcomed. Thanks

dont bang it out. it will resonate terribly and create that bumble sound thats super annoying.
also having no cat is basically making your car equal to 50-60 other integras with operating catalytic converters.
but if u truly do crave the extra 1-2hp that you may gain, going with the test pipe is ur best bet. no funky bumble bee resonance and lingering fumes.
also, since you have a 99, you're going to throw a check engine light because the secondary o2 sensor will detect that the same measurement as the primary sensor. its not supposed to be the same.

no emissions in my part of the state..only 2 parishes (or counties for yall) do that here...
i just need a nice replacement because this one is clogging and my exhaust sounds like crap and im starting to smell exhaust fumes in the cab due to it backing up im assuming

I'm talking safety inspection, not emissions. Most places will fail your car without a cat.
I tell people to stay away from test pipes. You can actually get in some decent trouble with the EPA for "Tampering with Emissions Equipment." Like they said, they're only good for a 1-2hp, and sound horrible.

well places around here for the most part just check to make sure you have all your paperwork, that the horn works, the lights on outside of car work, and you arent tinted horribly beyond legal.
and only reason i am looking for one is because the cat is going out and i dont want to spend $100+ on a new one...
