that's pretty cool. Where does it connect? How do you get the readouts?

Apparently it comes with a cable that you can connect to a computer.
The thing plugs into the connector to the right of the console (on the G3 - not sure where it is on the other cars).

i think it only work on 96 and up cars

It's an OBDII scan tool. OBDII was implemented starting in the '96 model year. So yeah, it only works on '96 or newer cars.
Looks alright as far as a diagnostic tool, but it doesn't seem that great...
