Default #00-0043's first mod :)

I got the local Acura dealer started up with Comptech by placing the first order last week. I only picked up the Icebox & filter for now, and when it comes time to clean the filter, I'll buy the intake kit then.

Total cost was $261.71 installed w/ everything. They waived the $79.90/hr charge for install because it was my idea to get the Comptech thing started, so that was sweet.

Honestly, I would have liked to do it myself like I did on my LS. I've got to say, free labor, Comptech parts & factory warranties make my day!

It's got a LOT more low end drivability now. First & second gear were really jumping if I let the engine rev down, like it was choking out. It's a good deal smoother now.

VTEC passes by in first & second even faster now, third & fourth feel more responsive. Overall, it sounds a bit throatier, mostly with heavy throttle though.

Overall, money WELL spent

$261?? Modacar.com, one of this board's sponsors, sells an Icebox for only $189 and they're easy as pie to install (the only thing holding on the intake to the throttle body are flex clamps). As for warranty, Comptech includes one and an intake isn't going to mess up your engine, especially the Icebox. It encloses the filter element and drastically reduces water going into your intake.

I know it's easy to install, I know it would have been cheaper elsewhere maybe.

You figure, I paid $169.99 for the icebox, $69.99 for the filter. Just like the website said. Not to mention $9 shipping & a few bucks tax. the install was free

The main reason I had my dealer do it is because I was their first comptech order, they just wanted to check it out.
