Default Max engine RPM

i have a 91 integra with a b18b in it.. it has 128k miles, ive literally changed oil every 3000miles, done regular tune ups, valve adjustments, and timing belt has been changed..and ive taken very good care of it.. so i know nothing is going to break on me from lack of maintanence... I am wondering what kind of RPM i can get out of my engine safley.. What would i need to change? currently the rev limiter is at 7500.. How do i get rid of the rev limiter? do i change my ecu?

I'd say you're pushing your luck as it is. 91' had the b18a, right? So, is the b18b a replacement motor? They should be the same, but does the tach match the motor? (ie. is 7500 really 7500?). My b18b redlines (stock) at what, 6800? Better learn about this motor's crappy r/s ratio before you go revving the ish out of it.

Agreed. Just because it can rev that high, doesn't mean it's going to be worth it. The stock cams only make power to a certain point anyway.

Why do you want to rev higher? Your engine isn't going to make any power past the stock redline esp if it's a B18b.

#1: You should never rev an engine past its stock redline without upgrading at least springs and retainers.

#2: That engine does not rev well without major buildup.

#3: You won't make any power above your stock redline with stock cams. There is a reason why Honda set the redline there.

:werd: do you have a good concept of how engines works? revving past redline on a stock engine will do nothing for you except, most likely, cause engine damage.

there's no power up there anyway without the right mods.

I think you meant that you have the b18a, not b18b. Either way, its limit is 6800, not 7500. DO NOT rev past that point unless you change cams, springs and retainers first.
