GS-R: K&N FIPK -or- Stock Air Filter Replacement?

Just wondering if anyone has installed the K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) on their GS-R. Its $230 versus $96 for the K&N replacement filter, so is it worth it?

Why don't you just get an APC intake replacement system?

They have ones with chrome pipes and filter for less than $70 for H&A applications.

Why would you need extra fuel injector performance if you don't even have an intake? Your motor sounds stock still, so it probably doesn't have extra fuel consumption needs.

Do a real intake, not just a filter. Just my 2 cents. if you want to do the filter, get the comptech for $70 and then get the icebox later. You can even keep the stock tubing if you're cheap.

fuel injection

I think the K&N Fuel Injection Performance Kit (FIPK) is just what they call their air intake system.

You may want to try and research intakes / air filters some more. If you just want to get a filter, I'm sure the K&N would be just fine, as well as the Comptech filter.
If you get a whole intake system, I'd say go w/ a Comptech Ice Box or AEM CAI.
