Yet another Cold Air/Hydrolock question, but please help
Ok, so my Type R has a AEM Cold Air on it, but no bypass valve. Now does anyone know if I take it to a really good carwash place and get an undercarriage wash, am I in trouble? Its not like Im driving through a lake at the carwash, but Delta Sonic is a touch free carwash place, so they use A LOT of pressurized water. Whaddaya guys think?
I have the same set-up except my car is a 96 Accord. You will be fine. It's just like driving in rain. The only thing u want to aviod with your intake is big puddles. And if this is car wash were you stay outside of the car. The engine is either shut off or in Neutral. So I think you should be fine.
By hand is the best way...but I break the rules in the winter.
As for the preasurized water you should have no problems...my buddy with a Civic and AEM CAI gets the undercaraige wash all the time and has had no issues and he is bypass valveless.
