89 Integra doesn't start - sometimes
 

89 Integra RS-5 speed, 104K great shape but sometimes for some reason the car doesn't start. Power is fine, car turns over fine but doesn't start. If I try and let the car sit for a while, it will eventually start after a few tries Sometimes it fires up during this episode and when i give it gas it peters out. Eventually it always starts. This has been going on for almost 8 months now. I only drive the car about 30 - 100 miles a week and this happens about once a week,. Wierd thing is that it has never happened to me at home or in the morning, just when I'm leaving work in the evening, or if I'm out and leaving a store. Any suggestions? Is this a fuel pump that is dying a slow death due to how little I drive the car?

this is not much help to you but my 90 integra did the same thing only in the summer though. It would only happen on a warm day and you would just have to let it sit for a while. I could tell right away when it was going to do it because it turned over more than once. I put a vtec motor in and forgot about that problem and never did fix it so I am not much help but i did have the same prob.

is the car cranking all the way over and then dying or does it not start at all?

It is funny because the car turns over forever but wont start and it is spinning fastenough it is so wierd. It is like the distributor is shut off. I changed the ignitor as well but that didn't help.
