Integra 00 ...won't start after storm?
Hello,
I take care & keep my machine in proper working condition: 2000 integra 23,004 miles (hardly driven) Location: Orlando Florida. I went to LA for a week (integra was garaged). I returned on 08/17/08 (Saturday), and teg started fine and ran well. Then we had a tropical storm for 3 or 4 days, lots of rain, wind, no flooding around my teg. Today I tried to start it, and it was dead. I use a batter pack to start it. When I was clamping the plugs to the battery, I noticed that the connectors were a little corroded. And now when it starts, its lags and struggles to start. What's going on with my machine? Fess |
The battery may be old enough that it is no longer holding a charge.
Grab a voltage tester and confirm that you're getting about 12 volts with the engine off and about 14 with the motor running. |
Hey,
Thanks for the input. Average life span of a battery is about 3 years? |

Hey,
Thanks for the input. Average life span of a battery is about 3 years? Unfortunately it died the day after I had completed a prolonged stereo and sound-deadening install. So naturally, I assumed I had an open lead. :oh: I wasted half a day chasing every ground lead for no reason. :run: |
Keep those terminals clean too. When they get corroded it can interfere with the connections and slowly drain your battery.

The voltage tester confirmed the battery issue.
I got a new one and had the connectors cleaned and tightened. My teg is fully opperational :D Anyone from Orlando FL? I'm looking to maybe join a car club around my area... |
