run a positive red wire to the fan, and inline it with a switch from radio shack.

further question on this. i've been thinking about this idea too, but i was wondering how you could hard wire it to a switch to turn it on whenever you wanted, but also leave it connected to the thermostat switch. that way you wouldn't have to worry about always turning the fan on and off when your just cruising, but you can turn it on when you want extra cooling.

if you want to find the positive, just find the connector to the fan motor and unplug it. turn the ignition to run(but don't turn the car on) and turn the a/c on(just hit the button, this turns on the fans). using a voltimeter, stick the positive lead into one of the side of a connector and put the negative lead on a ground. if there is a current, you found the positive wire, and vise versa.

i don't have ac.. and the reason y i want to wire it to a fan is becuase the fan doesn't work anymore.. and i have bought a new fan and would rather just wire it to a switch than deal with figuring the whole thing out.

well, you should just be able to plug the fan in if the old fan just got worn out. other than that, just get some 8 guage wire and wire with a switch to the batter and the engine head ground wire.

Fan timing control unit $130

That's what I did when my fan wouldn't go on any more. Or you can take it out and resolder the circuit board. Goes under the dash. It's not too hard to put in especially if you have a helms manual.
