Quick should i buy question
OK i have the ability to buy a 92 integra rs, i cant really name all the parts hes put into it but basiclly he was modifying the car to race it(, bushing, tires, rotors, injectors, computer, cap, rotor, clutch basiclly all the normaly parts are new or recently new). The oil is clean, oil changed every 3k, hes taken real good care of the car. the only down side is the engine has 300k miles on it . It stills runs the a/c still blows, now i kno i can rebuild or go buy a engine from a demo yard. But he wants $1,200.00 for it is it worth it?
Thanks,
Joe
Thanks,
Joe
To make a decent call, we need more info.
a) pictures
b) far more detail on parts installed...
c) status of the car's title (Is it salvaged?)
Also, when you say he has built the car to race it... in what field?
And what are your goals for the car?
The general rule is to never buy someone else's project car, unless you understand the risks and potential expenses involved in re-doing things the right way. And there are some modifications for racing that just don't translate to the street (such as a fully caged interior and fixed back racing seats).

ummm...in all honesty don't buy a project car from another tuner. i've seen it happen to my friends one too many times. You need all the nitty-gritty details you can get out of the car. But who knows, maybe she is worth it. But you run a serious risk purchasing a used project car. my questions is same as the guy up above me. as well as reciepts for every purchased item on the car. I know i haved saved everything since day one.. I have them all neatly organized in a 3" binder. that and researching the title will help you immensly. also look far into the teggys eyes to see her faults and flaws and quick fixes she has on her.
