Default Tach Problem

Ok, I'm in the process of doing a turbo install on my 00' LS. I bought a chipped/mapped OBD1 ECU from phearable.net and installed RC 440cc Injectors with OBD1 clips at the same time. Now when I rev past 6K, the tach drops to 0, engine revs like normal to redline and hits the limiter, and the tach will jump back up to 6k and rev down with the engine like normal from there....I'm not sure how this happens, but I have a suspicion(sp?) it is something to do with the new ECU. Can my tuner fix this? It's not hurting anything, it just looks weird to be at redline and have the tach read 0, lol.

Any thoughts?

If it happend right after dropping that chipped ECU, then most probably It's the ECU. I would put back the stock one along with the injectors and see if that solves the problem. If it does then you need to return the ECU to your tuner for fix/exchange.

I can't put the stock injectors back in, the tips on 3 of them were cracked and/or broken off. They idled like shit and these new RCs fixed it. I'm betting it is the ECU, I'll have ISC look at it when I have them tune it.

You shouldn't be revving that high with a basemap anyway, regardless of whether the turbo is on or not. Wait until you get it properly tuned then you can rip into it.

I am not sure what the problem would be but I'll bet your tuner should be able to fix it or point you in the right direction on what the problem is.

I don't rap it out everywhere I go, I just did it a few times to see if everything was all good with the new injectors and ecu. Caught my eye before I even left the driveway, haven't done it again since. No need to around here, it's all 25

dosen't matter, u are on a basemap, u should be babying it until u get the car tunned correctly. PERIOD. and as Provocateur said your tuner will be able to figure that out.

I don't have the turbo in yet either. Just injectors, Intake Mani and obd1 ecu. I don't hardly ever take it above 4k, I only rapped it out that once in the driveway. I don't punish my car, lol.

put it back to stock for now; then when you're ready to go turbo, switch back over and get your ecu re-tuned.
