Default b16a in dc2?

I had a question, cause my friend at work she is selling her ex boyfriends 96ish integra..dc2 right? for 2500$ It's a fixerupper, just needs a paint job.

It recently had a b16a put it, I looked the at the stamp on the block and her cousin who did the swap, stated it has the type r tranny in it. Shes selling it cause she has two kids. It also has dc header stainless steel with the stamp on the manifold.

She stated it pulls hard and runs strong, she is currenltly using it as her daily driver until she gets rid of it..

Good buy? or no?

I just want it as a toy on the side..and as a daily driver..i dont wanna put miles on my bmw..

the simple fact that it's a b16 in a dc chassis (dc2 would be a gsr or type r) would make me steer clear.

What are your plans for it? If just a DD and it is running fine it should be ok. Talk her down to 2000. Does it really have a type-r tranny? The b16 gear ratios are the same as itr, just without the lsd.

Fix it up, home made turbo, possibly S/C. She states it's a type R tranny, I doubt it, LS tranny, SI tranny..I don't care too much. I'm not too much of a DIY person, I was away from Hondas for awhile, getting into bwm's and DSMs. I'm a little more comfortable finiacially and wouldn't mind this as a toy. The weight difference between integras and SI's are around 100lbs right? Just trying to get input on if it's a so-so choice.

I had eyes on a eg b16 but he wants 4k..

basically it's a daily driver with a little to play with low tier tuners.

And oops, my apologies, I wasnt very good at identifyng chasis. It's, I guess, a DC, it has the leather seats and sunroof. I don't know if the GSRs and/or special edition ones come with those options. Background story is her ex blow the regular motor and had access to the b16a and type r tranny set up in another wrecked vehicle that belonged to his friend.

Just trying to see if 2500$ is a good price for a starting platform.

As far as parts go, im opting after a paint job, slipstreams and apexi catback,

Either intake manifold, cams and followed by by home made turbo or name brand kit.

or

Ls short block ( hmotors online or junked ) with the same b16 head in the vehicle
( What's usually the cost to mate/frankenstein this set up? Its def outta my league )

With just bolts on the ls/vtec.
