Rings for Nitrous
I am in the process of replacing the piston rings on my 94 ls, and I'm also considering something good for nitrous application. I heard about gas nitrite coated rings, are they any good? Or will it be just fine If I use chrome rings?
If you are going to do that replace the pistons. I has a LS and was spraying a 75 wet on it. Not exactly sure on how long I was using it like that but when it came time to do my motor swap for a turbo set up I got to see the stock pistons. I am surprised the motor still ran as strong as it did. They defiantly had some heat damage to them.
Our manifolds are designed to distribute dry air, not fuel held in suspension.
Long before I came to HAN, I ran a 75 wet shot on my GTi and paid the price.
I would vote for the ZEX dry kit, but jet it down to 55hp and use a window switch.
