Which springs with 17's?
 

Hola peeps. Bit of a dilemma here. I've got a 91 DA, riding on Konig Toxxin's, KGB AGX shocks, stock springs (actually not bad). I'm ready to lower, but I live in SoCal, land of culverts at every intersection (i.e., gutters), in other words, not that low, but the 4X4 look gets old.

I was thinking of going with Eibach Sportlines, 1.8" F and 1.5" R drop, worried about the drop in relation to the ground and rubbing on the tires is a no no. Any advice (from experience please) would be helpful.

Anything from 2 inches and under should be fine. If you encounter a problem at that point, then most likely the offset for your wheel is not appropriate for your car. A camber kit would not be a bad idea either.

From an online search it appears 17" Konig Toxxin's with a 4 X 100 lug pattern have an offset of 42.

Someone is also offering me some Tokico springs for $50 shipped, 1.5" F and 1.4" R drop.

buy something that lowers an inch or less because i just got kyb agxs and h and r race springs that lower 1.75 in rear and 2 in front and i have 17s and it rubs like a bitch im am looking for a set of h&r oe sport springs but i will gladly set u my h&r race springs im sure there are other ways to make it stop rubbing but i dont want to deal with bs and i have a whole body kit for car pm me if interested in springs good ride quality rides smooth for lowered car

It sounds like you have an offset issue as well. This is common problem w/aftermarket wheels. People think because they are getting a wheel w/a 4x100 lug pattern that everything will be just peachy. Speaking from experience, I have had 17's on my car twice since I have owned it. 1st time was w/the wrong offset and it rubbed on uturns only. 2nd time it had the right offset and did not rub ever. This is w/a 2 inch drop w/progress springs, progress camber kit and kyb 4-way adj. struts. Keep in mind the camber kit also helps against rubbing as it keeps the wheels from flexing inward toward the wheel wells.

A friend with a 96 Integra sold these to me for $100 when he sold his car and put his stock rims back on. I haven't rubbed once, I think I have more clearance than he did and he never rubbed either. I'm installing Tokico springs, 1.5" F and 1.4" R drop, spring rate is very close to stock but progressive, not linear. I have a Revo camber kit, not installed yet because I haven't needed it. I will have it installed after the drop if the shop can't align the car without it, I think I will probably only need to add washers to the rear to correct too much negative camber. If the front is off too then I'll have them do that as well. Thanks for all the info/feedback.

well i have skunk 2 camber kit on there and it still causes issues and maybe offset has something to do with it but it rub on outside of fender and inside so dont think different 17s would help

sounds like an offset issue my friend. you may be able to correct this with different tires, I've got 205/40R17, no problems. there's lots of info on the web about how to choose the right tires for your car, just google "offset".

i have 205/40/r17s tires does not make a diff unless someone lower body also before i bought because supsension was lowered can u lower just the body on integras
