OEM oil cooler

What are the benefits of having a OEM oil cooler? My 95 gsr block came with one, and I'm just wondering about how effective it is :oh:

They aren't really necessary. Since you already have one, leave it alone. Since all OBD2 blocks come without it, it was obviously a part not critical to longetivity or performance of the engine.
