Default A/C Compressor not coming on...

when i press the ac button, i don't hear the compressor coming on, and cold air doesn't come out of the vents... the belt on the compressor is fine, so i assume it's a fuse or a switch? any ideas? this is for a 1995 integra se.

if it doesn't come on at all (no clutch engaging) the first thing to try is filling your system with refridgerent and adding dye/oil then taking a black light around all your AC lines in about a week to find out of there is a leak.

yeh, the AC light comes on... the compressor clutch doesn't engage. So if the coolant is too low pressure the clutch won't engage? is there anyway to make sure that it's not something else before i bother refilling the coolant?

Take it to an A/C shop if you want to do it right. If it has completely lost its charge, it will need to be vacuum discharged before recharging. The drier may also need to be replaced.
