94-01 Closest replacement shift knobs

I just joined the ranks of the Integras... found a '95 with 70k miles
on it, one owner, no accidents. I'm happy.

I really like the shape/fit of the OEM shift knob on it but it is a
wee bit worn. What are good replacements for it? I like the standard
RSX one and some of the Momo's.

The main thing I'm looking for is that it look relatively stock. That is,
the shift knob goes all the way down to the shift boot and it looks
like it could have been there from day one.

Thanks for any ideas (or pictures of installed ones.:))

Why don't you just get another oem one? You can find shift knobs almost anywhere, just do a google search or look on ebay

You can go with the Skunk2 shift knob. I have one of these. Check it out on ebay:

Im stupid and spent $45 on my 1995 LS knob. However i think it has the best feel and look with the double bend shifter. unless youre into those hott aftermarket l.e.d. knobs. :lmao:

if you're looking for something other than stock, this looks like a nice alternative:
http://www.fox-stock.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=190

however, be prepared to freeze your hand in the winter, and burn your hand in the summer. :o or keep a rag in the car to handle the knob until the temp. balances out in the cabin.

I've got the skunk2 weighed knob and I LOVE it. Reno is right though, especially in direct sun that thing gets so hot you can barely shift. The weight gives it an amazing shift feel IMHO. If you've got the bucks, go w/ that fox knob or the skunk2, you won't be disapointed.

I have a related question. Were the shift knobs ever different between the 94-01 Integras? I have a '94 gsr and my buddy had a '99 and the shift knobs felt completely different even though I believe they were both stock. Also, there is a slight gap between the shift boot and shift knob on mine.

I've replaced the vinyl covered shift knobs in my 94 gsr sedan and 94 si with some leather oem integra ones. Not sure which integras these came off of, but they are nice. Leather is the only way to go. Good grip, and unlike the metal ones, winter or summer, they are comfortable to grasp.

This is exactly what I'm looking for (sort of). I want the basic shape of the OEM but don't want vinyl. I know the Type-Rs have the leather with the red stitching but $100 seems a little steep to me. I'm wondering if someone can point me to which models of the Integra came with the leather shift knob or where I can get one that is similar (momo, perhaps?).

Which OEM Integra shifter did you get? The one's I've found do not specifically say leather so I assume they aren't.

I have the Sparco Litium shift knob. I love it because it is shaped like stock, but the leather is softer than stock. Check it out:

schmoo, you forgot the link :p

my vote is basically for any decent-looking one covered in leather or vinyl

I'll get it up tonight. I had issues with the server when I posted that, so it doesn't surprise me it didn't show up.

I found it at modacar.com.

Do a google search on "Sparco Lithium shift knob". I think I prefer the "Sparco classic shift knob above it". How is the install? Is it threaded or the standard screwed at the bottom onto the shifter? Also, does it go all the way down to the shift boot?

It isn't threaded. Three allen screws hold it to the shifter. It goes almost all the way down to the boot, but I used some glue to make the boot stick to the metal part of the shift knob.

R_Squared 04-13-2006 12:57 PM

I've got a gap between the boot and the stock shift knob. Are you saying that the stock shift fork isn't threaded? Can I just keep turning the shift knob to lower it a bit or am I incorrect in this assumption?

What do you mean, shift fork? The shifter is threaded, but the shift knob fits over the threaded portion and is secured very tightly with allen screws. A threaded knob will only go so tight and then bottom out of the threads. You will most likely have a gap unless you use some glue to secure the boot to the knob.

But anyway, here is my picture. Hopefully it works this time:

dude, thank you for posting this pic! I was trying to determine why my shift knob seemed different from my buddy's even though we both have gsr's...turns out I have an LS shift knob for some reason.

looking to get rid of your gsr shift knob for cheap? :rick:

reno96teg 04-14-2006 05:46 AM

are you sure that's not '98-'01 on the left, '94-'97 on the right?

ADRONICUS 04-14-2006 06:36 AM

I have an RSX-S on mine. It threaded on just right, no problems. It says 6 speed but who gives a shit it works the same. The bag clip it comes with holds the bag snug to the knob so you do'nt see the shifter either, makes it look clean.

That's a good point. That hadn't occurred to me. Possibly... :oh:

Schmoo, that looks great!

Centerforce99, do you have a pic of your?

Both of my knobs feel good.
