Default got CEL probably my HIGH FLOW CAT

ok i have a 97 integra LS. i removed the OEM catalytic converter. i put in a new High flow cat. basically its a straight pipe. i put both O2 sensors back in the right spots. should i be getting a CEL??? im thinking its coming from the sensor with the new Cat. you guys think that might be it? if it is then im probably just gona throw my Oem cat back on.

yeah i would assume it is.... i would definately suggest putting back in your stock cat to see if the CEL goes away.. if it doesn't... then it's just one of those annoyances that you deal with i guess, what cat did you get?

I just put on a magnaflow cat OBDII compliant. My code is "Catalyst Efficientcy Below thresold Bank 1. I have cleared the code by disconnecting the bat. I can start the car and drive for a couple of minutes with out the CEL, and It seems that I throw the code after the exhaust gets to temp.??? cat too big, bad O2 sensor? WTF????

yeah it will throw the code u can either convert to obd1 or find a book to tell u how much electricity the 02 sensor puts out and put a diode on it so say it runs 5 volts tot the computer for the reading put a diode that won't let it go over 5 volts to the computer all u have to do is solder the wire that goes to the computer which is positive to the ground or negative wire and that will keep the code off while allowing u to have the high flow cat

correction solder the diode to the wire that runs to the computer to the ground do not solder the sensor wire to the ground
