Whats up everyone? First time poster here. So ill just jump right into my problem. I just purchased a 92 integra RS. So i wanted to start fresh with oil, plugs/wires and the like. So my dad helped me out. I was working on the brakes and he was changing the plugs and plug wires. After changing the oil and the plugs and wires i started it up. It started but ran badly for only about 5 sec. and then died. Well he ended up putting the plug wires in the wrong order. So we corrected the problem and tried it again but got nothing. We took one of the wires off the distributor and tested for spark and got nothing. Could the mix up have fried an ignition coil or something?
Any suggestions? Thanks

It's possible that the coil could have fried...have you checked the other wires? If none of them are getting spark, test the coil.

 

dubcac, thanks for the speedy response. We tried getting a spark directly from the distributor in each plug wire spot but got nothing. As long as its not a major fix I'm ok. Where exactly is the coil located? Thanks for the help.

It's located inside the distributor housing. A Hayne's repair manual will point out the exact location. You can then test the resistance across the coil to see if it is up to spec.
