JDM B18c Compression low?
Alright well i recently just bought a 2000 Hond Civic CX with a JDM B18c. So i just recently did a compression check on it and the reults were 175, 175, 175, 175. It is good, but i was thinking those numbers were pretty low for a high compression motor. what do you think?

isnt the normal compression for a b18c 220psi? i think someone said that b4...the normal for b18a is 180 :) u sure u did it right? and u sure it is a b18c? those results look more from a b18a/b...unless ur rings or valves r goin to shit
ya that does seem kind of low for a GSR
Did you have the throttle plate opened all the way during cranking? Also, how many cranks did it take to reach the 175 in each cylinder?
Cylinder 4,3,2 we had the throrrle plate closed we forgot that we needed it opened. then on cylinder 1 we had the throttle open read the same thing 175 and yes it is a JDM B18c. We redid it all and they all came out as 175. We did 4 cranks to reach 175 all on the cylinders.

Was the motor warm? A warmed up motor will cause everything to expand and seal better. I don't think the numbers were too bad, and they're all even...which is the main thing.
uhh i did mine with TB closed (or i didnt touch the pedal at all) and i came out with 175 for an LS...but ur compression is low o and my engine was warned up, like dubcac said :). did u buy the car with teh swap or did u swap it urself? sounds like the last owner rallied it if there was a previous owner...
I would be alarmed if the numbers were REALLY low, or there was a large deviation between any cylinders....they look fine to me.
but isnt the norm 220psi? these numbers look like they are from an LS
According to my Helms, minimum compression is 140....most of the time GSRs are around 200psi.
