Default Head gasket replacement from hell!!! need advise

ok where to start? i had to replace the head gasket and water pump on my B18C1. finished putting everything back together and went to start it up and it ran VERY rough, so i took the timing belt back off and noticed the valve timing was off so i realigned the cams to their timing marks with the arrows pointing up and lined up the crank pulley on the middle red timing mark with the pointer on the timing belt cover. started it up and it ran alot smoother but its still rough, played with the ignition timing but it did nothing.

Heres whats wrong now:
1. engine stutters here and there
2. little bit of white smoke out of the tail pipe, might be from when head gasket blew
3. liquid spits out of the tail pipe when engine stutters
4. wont rev past 6k, as if it is in limp mode, (P72 OBD1 for the record)

im outta options on what to do any help would be greatly appretiated.

thanks

The red mark is for lining up the ignition timing, not the cam timing. That is your problem. Line them up again using the white mark and it should run better.

I guess cars are something you should leave for someone else to work on.
