Help my car wont start!!!! Fuel relay or electrical problems??
I have a 1995 Integra Vtech.. i bought it off some guy who had done some modifications to it before nothing really big theres alot of wires all underneath were the circuit box is..anyways... It started saturday i went to work got out and the car wouldnt start it would crank just wouldnt start cranked it again nothing then again it started... next day went to the store started right up no problem drove there came out from the store started right up... Went up the street to a friends house came out it wouldnt start.. cranked it again nothing then agian it started.. next morning ( yesterday) went to work started right up no problem left work to run some errans starting up fine.. around 2 came out from a store wouldnt start... waited cranked it agian nothing and again nothing for about 20 min did this then it started.. went back to work for an hour came out didnt start cranked it of again and on agian for about 5-10 min then it started... this morning started right up went into work for about an hour came out wouldnt start tried it a while wont start now its stuck at work... had a friend look at he he said fuel pump relay.. we took it out and tested it there was continuity in the relay so????? anouther thing thats weird it the lights on the instrument panel dont come on or the clock but the radio does when the key is in accessory... but you cant here the fuel pump coming on right before you go to start it... 3 of my mechanic friends looked at it they said its something to do with the electrical with the ignition.. I dont know...
..First try your battery connectors..make sure everthings tight, then try your fuses under your hood make sure none are blown, if your tuning yoru key and not getting anything then its a problem around the battery if your crank it and it turns over but wont start you've narrow your problem down to fuel or igition lets start with fuel, make sure when you turn the key you listen for your fuel pump... if it goes mmmmmm good, now check your injectors sniff around your fuel filter make sure you smell gas.. if there's no smell or your pump doesn't hummm you got your problem, if it all checks out more then likely its your disturber.. had the same problem it'd crank and want not but not turn over.. its more then likey the dizzy itself or its the coil or module.. i can't tell you which you gotta figure it out but to make sure its getting power.. stick a screwdriver in the #1 cyl spark pluge wire and either hold it or set it down to where it only meets your frame alittle, don't make it touch this actually requires two people when doing this cause one needs to crank the car the other needs to see if there's a blue spark.. it wont hurt anything and if you can't get the whole frame grounding thing to work just tell your friend to hold the screw driver and bit his teeth lol.. it does work if he jumps you got spark if not.. you know your problem.
I got a 95 integra... saturday it started acting up.. wouldnt start cranked it a few times then it did.. next day started up left the store came out didnt start... cranked it a few times then it started ... monday morning started right up went to work left work didnt start cranked it for about 20 min then it started... had a buddy look at it cause it was dead at work again... no power to the fuel pump or instrument panel but the car cranks.. battery is good and all the fuses have power exceot # 18 and 24 one of which is controlling the ignition.. Could it be my fuel pump relay or a bad ignition switch doing this...
