idle high then low

i gotta '94 GSR and this shit idles 2100rpm then bak down to 700prm.. the check engine light dont come on.. anybody know what the problem might be??

i had that same problem on my 98 civic ex (sohc engine)..

check the vacuum lines on manifold(mine was too small, engine would struggle and tried to adjust to the lacking vacuum (idling up and down)

An engine with a lot of air in the coolant system will do this, too. Do you have a bad head gasket? Do you keep having to top off your radiator, and then your overflow tank keeps filling?
