Default Checking the motor mounts

I was wondering how to check the motor mounts b/c i have an auto and the car seems to shake when shifting and i heard this was something that could be the cause.

Also i have heard mixed reviews about transmission coolers and was wondering if it is a hard or easy install and if it is worth the effects.

There are 5 mounts total. There are two in the front down near the wheel wells on each side, one on the top of the tranny, one near the power steering pump, and then one between the tranny and firewall down low. The last one is the biggest pain in the ass. You can only check it if you get underneath the car and look up.

Just check for severe cracking and broken rubber. The two in the front are most likely to go first, but the tranny one either on the top or down low could be your problem.

I have replaced the front two since they broke completely but I am unsure about the other two on the side. I know that the rear one that you need to get underneath the car to replace is a complete pain in the ass.

They are made of rubber and the motions of the engine and weather takes a toll on them.
